Dana Hampton (She/Her)
Licensed Professional Counselor

Dana Hampton is a co-owner of Rooted Lancaster LLC and a Licensed Professional Counselor that specializes in trauma, life transitions, and stress management. She has a passion for teaching clients about emotions and emotional regulation skills as well as guiding clients to express their authentic selves. 

 

She is trained in mindfulness, attachment, CBT, TF-CBT, and DBT. In addition, Dana has extensive training in trauma, including complex trauma and parts work. She is an EMDR Certified Therapist through EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). She also holds certificates in Maternal Mental Health and Embodied Social Justice. 

 

Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with an additional focus in sociology, from Millersville University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University. Dana has a wide range of professional experiences in both community mental health agencies and private practices throughout the Lancaster and Philadelphia regions. 

 

From growing up in rural central Pennsylvania to working in urban settings, Dana learned the impact of culture and context on our psychology and mental health. Dana believes that understanding our environment plays a large part in managing our emotions and promoting self growth. 

 

Dana's therapeutic style is quirky and creative while also being direct and straightforward. Dana utilizes a trauma informed relational perspective in therapy and uses behavioral interventions, mindfulness skills, and stress management strategies. In addition, she has an interest in holistic healing and values life long learning, as she continues to expand her knowledge.
